NOPD investigating double homicide in Desire

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a double homicide in the Desire neighborhood.

The shooting happened in the 3400 block of Ursula Spencer Way.

Around 7:05 a.m. officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery in the area.

According to NOPD, two male victims were found suffering from gunshot wounds inside of a vehicle in the area.

They were pronounced at the scene by EMS, according to NOPD.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person or persons responsible for this incident as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
