UNO's run for a Southland Conference tourney title came up short, losing to Northwestern State, 7-5, in the championship game.

The Privateers (29-32) played three games in 24 hours, and almost pulled off the stunner of winning a title as the No. 8 seed.

UNO trailed by three in the fifth but stormed back to knot things up at 5-5 after Orynn Veillon scored on a passed ball. The Demons' David Fry connected for a solo shot to begin the seventh, putting NSU back in front 6-5.

This was the first time UNO advanced to the tourney title game under head coach Blake Dean.
