(WVUE) - It's turned into a fairly pleasant Memorial Day weekend when you are away from the tropical downpours as expected with Alberto's center nudging farther east in Gulf of Mexico. Our weather Memorial Day and Tuesday will continue to have some passing downpours and it's not out of the question that one or two locations end up with a significant rainfall of 1-3 inches over a period of time, but no widespread problems are expected in the immediate area.
Those with interest along the Florida coast or may be vacationing over the holiday will see deteriorating conditions and copious amounts of rain starting late tonight and through Monday especially from the Alabama state line east. Jackson County Mississippi is the nearest area remaining under a flash flood watch through Tuesday.
Subsidence limiting storm coverage and Sunday's fresh breeze can be attributed to the circulation around Alberto. We will see similar conditions for Memorial Day and Tuesday.
As the storm quickly moves on to the north and east the end of next week will turn sunny, hot, and dry with near record high temperatures possible.
