LSP: One man dead, two others injured after vehicle flips on I-10

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Louisiana State Police are investigating a fatal crash in St. John the Baptist Parish Saturday night that claimed the life of a Baton Rouge man.

The crash happened just before 9 p.m. on I-10 east at mile marker 207.

According to investigators, a 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche was traveling eastbound on I-10 at a high rate of speed when it lost control and ran off of the roadway. The truck flipped several times before coming to a stop.

One man, 59-year-old Anthony Lewis, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other men inside the vehicle, 50-year-old Ivan Johnson and 52-year-old Carlos Moore, were taken to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.

State Police are working to determine the exact seating positions of the three occupants.

The crash remains under investigation.
