NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Gentilly residents woke up to a huge water main break Wednesday morning.
The water main sits at the intersection of Westbrook street at Duplessis and caused the power pole to sink.
A neighbor said her husband put in a call to the Sewerage and Water Board and crews were there by 7:30 a.m.
"Nobody heard anything, we all kind of got up this morning and saw that there was water coming down the street and the street sign was about four feet, five feet lower than it usually is," said Jenny Dickherber.
Sewerage and Water Board crews told her that they had a similar situation Wednesday in Lakeview.
Entergy crews were also on board to help with repairs.
FOX 8 has put in a request to the Sewerage and Water Board on a time frame for repairs and are awaiting a response.
