NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Jazz trumpeter Irvin Mayfield and business partner Ronald Markham have been indicted on additional charges related to an ongoing fraud case.
The Department of Justice announced Thursday that a Federal Grand Jury has added two more counts of wire fraud and two counts of money laundering as part of a superseding indictment. This now brings the number of charges against Mayfield and Markham to 23 counts.
Mayfield and Markham are accused of taking more than $1 million in donations from the New Orleans Public Library Foundation's fund while they were board members.
Both men have pled not guilty in their original arraignment.
