NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Fire Department responded to an Uptown train derailment Friday.

There were no injuries or spills associated with the accident, according to NOFD.

The derailment happened at 7:12 p.m. in the 4800 block of Tchoupitoulas Street. The first NOFD Company arrived on the scene at 7:17 p.m., to find three locomotives and four cars had derailed from the tracks. One train was traveling out of the yard while another was traveling in the same direction failed to yield to the outbound train, causing them to collide.

The cause of the derailment is currently under investigation by the New Orleans Public Belt.
