NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans Police say a man was arrested after robbing a man on Claiborne Avenue Saturday afternoon.
The incident happened just before 1 p.m. in the 8400 block of South Claiborne Avenue.
According to the victim, the suspect walked up to him armed with a pair of scissors and demanded money from the victim. The victim complied and gave him cash.
Later, the suspect returned and asked the victim for a ride. While asking for a ride, the suspect learned that the suspect called the police. The suspect then stole the victim's cell phone and fled the scene.
When officers arrived at the scene, the victim was able to help them locate the suspect where he was arrested.
Police identified the suspect as 31-year-old Dustin Wesney. Wesney has been charged with simple robbery and extortion.
