NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is searching for the driver of a vehicle believed to have valuable information regarding a hit-and-run that occurred in New Orleans East.

Initial reports show on June 17 around 3:49 a.m. the victim was struck by a vehicle in the 13000 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene as a direct result of the injuries suffered during the crash.

The perpetrator fled the scene without rendering first aid to the victim or requesting medical assistance, according to the release.

The vehicle pictured above was in the area at the time of the incident and may have valuable information about the crash.

The person is not currently considered a suspect wanted in connection with this incident at this time. However, investigators want to question the individual regarding this incident, according to the report.
