NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Police arrested a woman who allegedly attacked her victim with a metal hook during a physical altercation at a park in the CBD.

Charmain Carter, 48, was arrested Monday and booked with aggravated battery.

On May 29, at or around 11:30 a.m., the victim was sitting in the park, located in the 300 block of Loyola Ave., when Carter approached the victim, at which time they became involved in a physical altercation, New Orleans police said.

Carter allegedly pulled a metal hook from her shirt and began to strike the victim with the object during the fight.

The victim told police a second subject, who is also an acquaintance of Carter, got out of her vehicle, picked up the victim's cell phone and smashed it on the ground. The subject then walked toward the victim and struck her with a closed fist. Both suspects fled the scene and the victim was transported to an area hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.

On Thursday, officers located Carter in the 6800 block of Tara Ln. Carter was also wanted for outstanding warrants from Jefferson Parish and the Gretna Police Department at the time of her arrest.

She was transported to Central Lockup where she was booked accordingly for all charges.
