TRAFFIC ALERT: Two accidents shut down parts of I-10; interstate reopens

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans commuters headed inbound on Interstate 10 from the east are in for some big traffic delays Tuesday morning.

Multiple accidents on the High Rise forced officials to shut the interstate down around 6:45 a.m., however two lanes reopened around 7:10 a.m. Congestion from the incident has reached Crowder Blvd. as of 7 a.m. The state suggests alternate routes.

The two right lanes are blocked on I-10 headed inbound before Elysian Fields Ave., according to the DOTD.

Earlier, that accident closed the two lanes just before 6 a.m. Congestion was back to I-10 and the I-610 split.
