(WVUE) - The first player on our countdown is the only rookie of the group. True, first round pick Marcus Davenport has yet to play a single down in the NFL. But when the Saints their 2019 first round pick to Green Bay to move up and get him, they were essentially saying how valuable they expected him to be.
Davenport has elite size and athleticism and plays a position, at edge pass rusher, that the Saints have coveted for years opposite of Cam Jordan. During OTA's and minicamp with Alex Okafor out, Davenport ran with the first team.
He doesn't have to necessarily be a day one starter, but given the price the saints paid to get him, Davenport does have to be an impact player for the saints defense in 2018.
