ST. TAMMANY PARISH, LA (WVUE) - The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office wants to warn residents about a loose knit organization of traveling criminals, commonly known as the "Felony Lane Gang."
The group appears to be back in the area.
They travel the southern states targeting large parking areas such as ballparks, gyms, and similar areas where women frequently leave purses in their car, in plain view, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies are asking citizens to be mindful of this because the gang will break your window, steal your valuables, and pose as you at your local bank as they drain your account.
"These are not your local criminals, and are extremely difficult to identify. They commonly use rental cars, switched tags, wigs, and sunglasses to avoid capture," the sheriff's office said.
They recommend you always lock your vehicle and do not leave valuables in plain sight.
