Motorists urged to check whether they're driving recalled cars

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - GasBuddy researchers say automakers have recalled 70 percent of the 700,000 cars registered in their app.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notes 30 million vehicles on the road have been recalled in the last year.

AAA workers say getting recalled cars fixed can save lives. "Pretty much all of the recalls are safety related," said AAA spokesman Clay Ingram. "So, if you have a recall you need to get it taken care of and 99 percent of the time those repairs are completely free to the car owner."
