(WVUE) - Saints tackle Ryan Ramczyk is the perfect example of why the best player available approach to the works best for the Saints. When the Saints took ramczyk with the 32nd overall pick of the 2017 pick, tackle was not an immediate need. But it became one really quick.
First, Terron Armstead went down so Ramczyk stepped in to play left tackle. Then Zach Strief was injured, so he flipped over to play right tackle where he remained the rest of the season and did not miss a single snap all season long. That kind of versatility and durability helped make the saints one of the best offensive lines in the NFL in 2017. It also made Ramczyk a key part of the epic 2017 draft haul.
