Plane lands in grassy area shortly after takeoff, no injuries reported
HOUMA, LA (WVUE) - The Houma Fire Department has confirmed that a plane landed in a grassy area shortly after takeoff Saturday morning.
Fire Chief Keith Ward says firefighters received a call just after 9 a.m. that a plane had lost engine power shortly after takeoff and landed in a grassy area at the end of the runway.
When crews arrived at the scene, they found the plane at the end of the runway and learned that all of the occupants were safe.
There are no injuries reported.
The Houma Airport Authority is investigating the crash.
