NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Police are working to track down a 36-year old woman wanted for breaking into cars in Gentilly. The NOPD has identified the suspect as Yasmin Smith, who they say burglarizing at least two cars.
The victim says he went to get into his car in the 3500 block of Gentilly Road and noticed the glove compartment was open. He told police that several items were missing, including a credit card. Later that same day, the victim received a phone call, informing him that someone made charges on his card at a Raceway gas station. It was also later determined that the victim's other car was ransacked and the registration was missing.
The burglary happened back in May, and detectives now believe that Smith committed those auto burglaries.
