JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A Jefferson Parish grand jury indicted a man accused of killing Big Lee Thursday.

Wayne Higgins was indicted with second-degree murder in the death of Big Lee Martin, according to court documents.

Higgins is accused of shooting Martin May 5 after an altercation.

According to deputies, Martin was watering outside his home when Higgins started to back out of his driveway next door.

Deputies say Martin sprayed water on Higgins' vehicle, and after an exchange of words sprayed inside the vehicle and in his face.

That's when deputies say Higgins stepped out of the vehicle with a gun, shooting and killing Martin in his own yard.

Higgins was being held Thursday at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
