Coroner rules lawyer's death as homicide

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office officially ruled the death of an area lawyer as a homicide.

Sandy Kaynor died in April after he was shot during a robbery at his family's Uptown home.

The bullets severed Kaynor's spine, leaving him paralyzed and unable to speak.

The Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office told our partners NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune that it does not immediately plan to seek murder charges against the three men convicted in the case.

Their sentences range from 45 years, to life in prison.
