NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - St. Charles Parish residents should not be alarmed if they see police activity around a middle school on Monday. The sheriff's office is holding training for an active shooter situation.
The training will be held at JB Martin Middle, 434 South St. in Pardis at 2 p.m.
All enforcement personnel within the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office are required to attend this one day of eight-hour training, which focuses on active attacks, mass injury, incident command and rapid casualty evacuation.
The sheriff will hold a press conference with St. Charles Parish Public Schools, St. Charles Hospital and other safety personnel when the training is done.
