NOPD: Man injured after someone opens fire on vehicle in New Orleans East

New Orleans Police say a man was injured in a shooting while driving through New Orleans East early Saturday morning.
The shooting happened just before 1 a.m. in the 7600 block of Shorewood Boulevard.
According to the victim, he was driving in the area when someone fired multiple shots at his vehicle and struck him.
He was transported to a local hospital by private conveyance.
