NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Two men were arrested by police Saturday night after robbing a man in Central City.

Police say the robbery happened around 10:50 p.m.

The victim told police he was approached by two unknown black males near the intersection of Magnolia Street and Felicity Street. One of the suspects grabbed the victim by the throat while the other suspect went through his pockets. The victim attempted to fight the two men off of him but he was thrown to the ground before the suspects fled the scene with his wallet that contained $900.

Police say the victim later saw the suspects again and called police. Police were able to arrest both men without incident.

The arrested suspects have been identified as 34-year-old Kerry Lewis and 36-year-old Bryan Tillman. Both have been booked into the Orleans Parish Jail with two counts of simple robbery.
