SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - Slidell police recovered a custom-made tricycle that was stolen from a girl with special needs.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday an anonymous citizen dropped off the stolen tricycle to the Slidell Police Department.

The citizen, who was in no way involved with the theft, was able to convince the thief to surrender the bike, according to police.

The investigation is still on-going.

The license plate and flag is still missing, but Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal is committed to replacing the stolen items.

"We are extremely happy to have the bike returned," said Chief Fandal. "Everything else is secondary at this point, but we will still be pushing forward with this investigation."

Fandall said hundreds of people and businesses from all over the New Orleans Metro area were willing to donate money to replace the stolen bike.

The Slidell community and the family of 12-year-old, Adara, are grateful for all the support.
