Coast Guard searching for missing boaters near Pensacola

PENSACOLA, FL (WVUE) - The Coast Guard is looking for three boaters near Pensacola, Florida, Thursday, July 19th.

A father and his two sons, David Washington, 80, David Washington Jr. and Darryl Washington, whose ages and hometowns are unknown, have not returned by the anticipated time after launching from Navy Point Boat Launch in Bayou Grande.

A capsized vessel matching the description of the boat that the men were on has been located, according to The Coast Guard.

Involved in the search are:

  • Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile HC-144 Ocean Sentry fixed wing aircrew
  • Coast Guard Station Pensacola 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boatcrew
  • Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew
  • Coast Guard Cutter Gannet crew
  • Florida Fish and Wildlife helicopter crew
  • Escambia County Search and Rescue
