JEFFERSON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - The case of a man accused of shooting and killing a Jefferson Parish deputy heads back to court Friday.

A motions hearing takes place for Jerman Neveaux in Gretna.

He is charged in the 2016 death of Detective David Michel Junior on Manhattan Boulevard.

Both a psychologist and a psychiatrist previously testified Neveaux was competent to stand trial.

If Neveaux is found guilty, he could face the death penalty.
