Child reportedly shot in Algiers Sunday morning

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The NOPD is investigating a reported shooting involving a child early Sunday morning around 12:30 a.m.

The incident happened in the 3600 block of Garden Oaks Drive.

The child is an 8-year-old boy and he is currently in stable condition, according to police.

NOPD's initial reports say the boy was outside of the third floor balcony where he was apparently shot in the upper back area.

No additional information is currently available.
