(WVUE) - A Louisiana native was looking forward to a father, son fishing trip until things went south, and fast.

Matthew Baxter grew up in Walker, but now lives in New Jersey.

Baxter said fishing is in his blood, and decided to teach his son, also named Matthew, the Southern tradition.

Baxter filmed Matthew reel in his first fish, but did not expect him to be scared.

In the video, Matthew is seen screaming at the top of his lungs. He drops the pole and forces himself into a nearby bush.

Baxter described his son's reaction as, "sheer terror."

It appears that Matthew warmed up to the idea, since he posed for a photo with a fish he caught with Dad.
