COVINGTON, LA (WVUE) - The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested three Covington teens in connection with a drive-by shooting in Lacombe earlier this month.

On July 16, deputies were called to a home on North Pontchartrain Drive in Lacombe just after 8 p.m. for a shooting. The residents inside of the home stated that shots were fired towards the home from the road. Investigators learned that the house, which was occupied by two adults and three children at the time of the shooting, was struck by bullets several times. Fortunately, no one was injured in the shooting.

Witnesses told investigators that a grey Hundai Sonata with dark tinted windows was seen in the area shortly before the shooting. The vehicle was later determined to be the suspected vehicle.

The victims told deputies that they suspected 18-year-old Avery Fabre was responsible for the shooting due to the contentious history between Fabre and the victims.

Investigators say that it was learned that earlier that day, Fabre uploaded a homemade music video that showed him rapping. The victims believe that he was threatening them in the song.

After releasing the description of the suspected vehicle, detectives received tips leading them to the vehicle in Covington. Once the vehicle was seized, deputies learned that Fabre's cousin, 17-year-old Jaydon Carter, was driving the vehicle the evening of the shooting.

On Tuesday afternoon, detectives located Carter, Fabre and 18-year-old Johnterrius McDowell outside of a home on West 32nd Avenue in Covington. It was learned that Carter was was the driver of the vehicle while McDowell and Fabre were the passengers the night of the shooting. It was later determined that Fabre was the shooter.

All three suspects were arrested without incident and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail.

Fabre has been booked with five counts of assault by drive-by shooting, one count of aggravated criminal damage, one count of taking contraband to and from a penal institution and one count of possession of marijuana.

Carter has been booked with five count of assault by drive-by shooting and one count of aggravated criminal damage.

McDowell has been booked with five counts of assault by drive-by shooting, one count aggravated criminal damage and one count of illegal possession of a stolen firearm.
