(WVUE) - We will remain hot and dry for the next couple of days with low humidity by late July standards. Highs will still reach the lower and middle 90s during the afternoon.

Moisture begins to return on Friday and by the weekend, spotty storms will be possible mainly during the afternoon. We will remain hot otherwise with highs continuing in the low to mid 90s.

By next week a very strong area of low pressure will develop over the middle of the country. That will send a cold front into our region bringing rain, clouds and below normal temperatures.

There are no tropical systems threatening the Gulf of Mexico at this time.
