Man arrested for shooting that injured 8-year-old

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department and U.S. Marshals have arrested a man connected to a shooting incident that injured an 8-year-old boy.
The incident happened in the 3600 block of Garden Oaks Drive on Sunday, July 22 shortly after midnight.
According to NOPD, officers responded to a reported aggravated battery by shooting incident where, on scene, they discovered the boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.
Jared Heldon, 20, was arrested and booked with aggravated battery by shooting and obstruction of justice.
