(WVUE) - Moisture will gradually increase over the next day or so bringing a return to our spotty summer storms into the weekend. It will remain quite hot with highs into the middle 90s.
Next week, a very strong area of low pressure will develop over the middle of the country. That will send a cold front into our region bringing rain, clouds, and below normal temperatures.
There will be the possibility of heavy rain next week along the Gulf Coast but it's too early to pinpoint exactly which areas will be at highest risk.
There are no tropical systems threatening the Gulf of Mexico at this time.
