NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating alongside the New Orleans Police Department are investigating two burned bodies found in a wooded area in Algiers.
The bodies were discovered in the 3600 block of Amanda Street.
NOPD said they responded to a report of a brush fire around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night. .
As they were extinguishing the fire, they found the charred remains of two individuals, according to NOPD.
Police said both bodies were burned beyond recognition.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victims' names upon completion of autopsy and notification of families.
