JFK high school reopens with school supply drive
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Mayor Latoya Cantrell and other city leaders will attend a school supply giveaway Monday at a New Orleans Schools that is re-opening its doors after 13 years.
The John F. Kennedy High School at Lake Area will return for the 2018-2019 school year after it was permanently closed due to damages from Hurricane Katrina.
J.F.K. alumni petitioned the Orleans Parish School Board to reopen the school.
J.F.K. students will receive school supplies, free haircuts and food at the drive, scheduled for 1 p.m.
