METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) - It took Patrick Robinson a few different teams to find his true calling, but now he's become a highly-respected slot cornerback. And the difference between Robinson now and his first stint with the Saints is night and day. Not only is he an improved player on the field, but he's also become more of a veteran and leader, and the role suits him well.
"I know what it takes," says Robinson, jjust a few months removed from winning a Super Bowl in Philadelphia. "I'm just trying to share my knowledge and how we did it last year in Philly. I'm ust trying to share all of my knowledge I've gained and try to win another championship."
After all, that played a big role in why he came back to New Orleans. Robinson says he recognizes how talented and mature this young secondary is. It's a group that's truly capable of being one of the best in the league.
"We're very competitive," says Robinson. "As a DB (defensive back), you have to be competitive. You've got to be fearless. These young guys are extremely fearless, very competitive, and I love it."
When asked about the biggest change he's noticed with the Saints since he was last here back in 2014, Robinson says coach Payton is a little bit nicer, but the culture within the team remains the same. The key is building on what they accomplished in 2017.
