NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Heavy rain greeted much of the area early on Saturday with several flood advisories in the metro area. While there was some localized street flooding the activity moved on fairly quickly and by late afternoon conditions were greatly improved.
Sunday does not look as stormy and chances are for more sun. There will still be a few heavy downpours, but with more sunny breaks expect highs to bounce back to the low 90s.
We will turn drier again as high pressure builds early next week. Lower rain chances means slightly hotter temperatures.
Another frontal boundary will approach the area at the end of next week, and the chance for storms will once again increase.
The tropics remain extremely quiet across the entire Atlantic Basin.
