NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A year after the August 5 flood, The Sewerage and Water Board said some serious issues with the city's pump and turbine system has been fixed.
Sunday marked one year since eight to ten inches of rain fell in parts of the metro area. Many homes, businesses and cars took on water.
The board first said the system was operating at capacity, but it turned out only one of the five turbines were powering the pumps.
Also 18 of the 148 pumps were out of service.
