Police: Mother pushing child in stroller stabbed to death by boyfriend
GRETNA, LA (WVUE) - A mother who was pushing her one-year-old son in a stroller in Gretna Thursday morning was stabbed to death by her boyfriend, according to Gretna Police.
Traniel Gray, 35, of Gretna, died of "multiple stab wounds" to her chest, back, face and neck, according to the police report.
According to the report, Gray was stabbed 29 times to her chest.
Lawson said in the report that when officers found her body, her son was lying next to her in the street, crying. The child was not injured.
According to the report, police arrested Gray's boyfriend, Damone J. Ussin, 41, and booked him with second-degree murder.
Ussin was also booked with battery of a dating partner for a July domestic abuse incident involving Gray, Lawson said in the report.
The killing occurred about 5 a.m. in the 1200 block of Amelia Street in Gretna.
Ussin was being held without bond Friday at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna.
