State Police: Car, person of interest found in fatal hit and run
State Police on Monday located the 2012 Toyota Camry XLE involved in the fatal crash.

(WVUE) - State Police said as a result of media coverage and tips from the public, troopers have located the suspect vehicle and identified an unnamed person of interest in the hit-and-run crash that sent a man to the hospital in critical condition on Aug. 8. The victim, Gordon Poydras, died Aug. 10.

The vehicle has been identified as a 2012 white Toyota Camry XLE. State Police said the investigation remains active and ongoing, and criminal charges may be forthcoming.

On Aug. 8 at about 10:30 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop B investigated a hit-and-run crash that left Poydras, a 25-year-old New Orleans man, in critical condition. The crash occurred on the I-10 east collector road at Causeway Boulevard.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Poydras was walking in or near the right lane of the collector road and was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
