UPDATE: Victim in CBD shooting dies, 3 suspects at large

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A Tuesday afternoon shooting in the Central Business District is now being investigated as a homicide after the victim, who was hospitalized in grave condition, died.

Police responded at 2:11 p.m. to a car accident with injury. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head in the 900 block of Gravier Street.
Eighth District Commander Nicholas Gernon said the man was in the car with three other people when one or more of them shot him. The three suspects then fled on foot, with two running down Gravier southbound and a third running into a nearby parking garage. Police surrounded the garage, but the suspect managed to escape through an emergency exit.
As of 4 p.m., Gravier Street remained closed between O'Keefe and Baronne as the investigation continued.
