NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police detectives have finally made an arrest in a New Years Eve holdup of a man pumping gas at a station in Mid-City. Police say 27-year old Johnell Kagler has been arrested on charges of armed robbery with a firearm. Kagler was captured by the NOPD VOWS Unit and U.S. Marshals in the 3100 block of Bienville Street.
The hold-up happened back on December 31, 2017. Police say a man was pumping gas at a station in the 1300 block of South Jefferson Davis Parkway. Detectives believe Kagler approached the man around 11 a.m., pointed a handgun at him and demanded the keys to his car. The victim complied and police say Kagler fled the location in the stolen vehicle.
