Kenner firefighters respond to 2-alarm blaze at hotel
About 50 people were in the hotel at the time.

KENNER, LA (WVUE) - Kenner firefighters responded Wednesday night to a two-alarm fire at a hotel on Williams Boulevard.

Firefighters got the call just after 9 p.m. The fire was out by 9:20, according to Fire Chief Ryan Bergeron.

About 50 people were inside the Contempra Inn hotel in the 2800 block of Williams at the time. Everyone was evacuated and accounted for, and there were no injuries.

Bergeron said the fire broke out in the eaves and firefighters attacked it from the roof. He said there was minimal damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
