Body of 18-year-old tuber recovered from Bogue Chitto River, officials say

FRANKLINTON, La. (WVUE) - The body of an 18-year-old who went underwater while tubing on the Bogue Chitto River Saturday afternoon has been recovered, according to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Jonis Warren of St. Tammany Parish was recovered and received by the coroner.

A 911 call was received at 1:44 p.m. Saturday reporting that someone tubing on the river went underwater and did not resurface, the sheriff’s office said.

Sheriff’s deputies, volunteers from the District Six Fire Department and paramedics from Northshore Ambulance responded. Mark Michaud with Southeast Louisiana Underwater Search and Recovery also assisted in search efforts.
