Cash Money Records, Helena Moreno bring Thanksgiving cheer to the Ninth Ward
200 turkeys and Thanksgiving supplies distributed to families in need
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Families in the Ninth Ward will enjoy a hearty Thanksgiving meal thanks to a generous giveaway hosted Wednesday (Nov. 20) by Cash Money Records co-founders Ronald “Slim” Williams and Bryan “Birdman” Williams.
Partnering with City Council President Helena Moreno and Giving Hope NOLA, the duo provided 200 turkeys and Thanksgiving supplies to local families.
“It’s nice to see people smile and see the emotion of people,” said Slim. “When we were growing up, we weren’t able to get turkeys or dinner among family. You never know what people are going through.”
City officials hope to see more initiatives like this throughout the holiday season, acknowledging the financial challenges many families face due to rising food costs.
The Williams brothers, originally from New Orleans, have a long history of philanthropy in the community, using their success in the music industry to give back.
