3 heading to prison after boy was attacked by dog while being restrained with handcuffs, prosecutor says
ASHLAND, Ohio (Gray News) - Three people will be going to prison after a boy was attacked by a dog while being restrained by handcuffs on his hands and feet, according to prosecutors.
The boy was seriously injured in the brutal mauling.
Robert Michalski, who owns the pit bull and the home where the attack took place, was convicted on two counts of complicity to endanger a minor and a single count of tampering with evidence, according to authorities.
The child’s mother, Angelina Williams, and Taylor Marvin-Brown, who was identified as the woman’s “lover,” pleaded guilty to several charges including kidnapping, endangering children, obstructing justice and possessing criminal tools.
The attack happened on Aug. 19, 2024, when the three adults handcuffed the boy’s wrists and ankles, leaving him defenseless with no way to protect himself from being mauled by Michalski’s dog.
Officials said the boy and his sister were subject to a “disturbing pattern of abuse.”
Michalski, the boy’s great-uncle, will be sentenced on July 21. He faces up to nine years in prison.
Williams will be sentenced on June 30.
Marvin-Brown will be sentenced on July 14.
