Two men killed in St. Tammany Parish house fire, cause under investigation
Because of the extensive damage, investigators said it is unclear whether the home had a working smoke alarm
SUN, La. (WVUE) - Two men were killed in a house fire Sunday afternoon in the Village of Sun, according to the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Deputies said the victims were a 76-year-old man and a 56-year-old man. Their names have not yet been released.
The fire broke out around 3:18 p.m. in the 83000 block of Sun Drive. Firefighters from St. Tammany Parish Fire Protection Districts 6, 8, 9 and 12 responded to the scene.
Because of the extensive damage, investigators said it is unclear whether the home had a working smoke alarm.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause and origin of the fire.

Bryan J. Adams, principal assistant chief of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety, urged residents to make sure their homes are equipped with smoke alarms. The department’s Operation Save-A-Life program offers free smoke alarms and installation to those in need.
