Florida woman seen on camera throwing, kicking puppy

TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB/Gray News) - A Florida woman was arrested after she was seen kicking and throwing a small dog across the street, deputies said.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office charged Imania Davis, 33, with six counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.

Deputies said the Tampa woman was recorded on a security camera the night of April 30 picking up the small dog by the scruff of the neck and throwing him onto a road into a mobile home park. When the dog ran back to her, she allegedly kicked him.

“This dog was only seeking love and attention and affection,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a press conference.

Deputies said she then threw him about 10 feet.

The dog survived, having been treated by a veterinarian for a broken leg.

Deputies said they were not sure if the dog had an owner.

Davis was placed under a $75,000 bond.
