Entergy monitoring Tropical Storm Isaias, urges Louisiana customers to prepare

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Entergy Louisiana and Entergy New Orleans are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Isaias in the Gulf and preparing for severe weather that could affect their service territory within the next several days, the companies said.

Entergy crews are ready to respond quickly and safely once conditions allow, should the storm affect the companies’ service areas.

The companies are encouraging customers to put personal storm plans in place and build a kit with basic emergency supplies, including any medical needs that require electricity.

Customers can learn how to make an emergency kit, get severe weather safety tips and prepare for medical needs on the company’s Storm Center website.

Entergy said staying informed before, during and after a tropical system strikes is as important as making personal storm plans. The company outlined the following ways customers can stay updated on preparations and restoration efforts:

• Download the Entergy app to report outages or check the status of power at a home or business.
• Check Entergy’s View Outage Map, which shows outage locations and restoration progress.
• Follow Entergy Louisiana on Facebook and X, and Entergy New Orleans on Facebook and X.
• Text OUT to 36778 to report an outage or STAT for the status of a power outage. Customers can sign up for text notifications at Entergy’s website or by texting REG to 36778, using their account number and ZIP code in the format: REG (account number) (ZIP code).
• Visit the company’s Storm Center for storm safety, preparation and restoration information updated throughout the day.
• Download the Operation: Storm Ready Guide, available in English, Spanish and Vietnamese, to help plan and prepare for weather emergencies.

Following any impacts, customers can check Entergy’s View Outage Map for the latest restoration updates.
