Cops raid Central City home where little Brianna Allen killed

New Orleans, La. - The NOPD's multi-agency gang unit, along with federal agents, raid a house in the 1200 block of Simon Bolivar. It's the same house where just over a year ago, gunmen opened fired during a child's birthday party, shooting five people and killing 33-year-old Shawanna Pearce and 5-year-old Brianna Allen.
The Allen family showed us the warrant, indicating a search for drugs, documents, firearms and ammunition inside of the house.
"We will see this through. We will work to identify other groups to try to establish control in this area and we will bring them to justice as well," says Asst. Special Agent In-Charge Robert Schaal of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, commonly referred to as the ATF.
Schaal says the raid is a result of a 16-count indictment. It accuses seven people of conspiracy to distribute and possess 280 grams or more of crack cocaine. Other charges include possession of firearms.
Two of the seven people were already in custody, including Burnell Allen, who was previously arrested for murder. 40-year-old Sonny Allen was arrested about an hour after the raid.
Members of the Allen family say the house belonged to Dolores Allen, an elderly woman who passed away Thursday.
"It's sad that we have to go through this. We have helicopters out here. We got to get on the ground. We can't move. We don't know what they're looking for," says Joylyn Allen.
While agents were seen taking magazine clips and several rounds of ammunition out of the house, they would not confirm what was found inside.
