LSU-Shreveport to visit White House following historic season
SHREVEPORT, La. (WVUE) - The LSU-Shreveport Pilots will wrap up their historic season with a visit to the White House.
This comes after the team wrapped up a perfect 59-0 season, including the NAIA World Series title.
“On every level, and every avenue...any sort of publicity...they deserve it all,” said Pilots head coach Brad Neffendorf. “They deserve it to not stop for a long time. It’s incredible.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson, who represents the Shreveport area in Congress, called into the city’s championship celebration and congratulated the team via speakerphone, miced up to the crowd.
“As a Shreveport native and double alum to LSU in Baton Rouge, and as a kid who used to play on the fields at LSUS when we lived in south Broadmoor, I couldn’t be more proud,” Johnson said.
The date of the Pilots’ visit to the White House is to be determined.
