I-12 reopens after bales of hay from overturned truck caused closure, delays

HAMMOND, La. (WVUE) - Commuters using Interstate 12 and Interstate 55 might want to “bale” on their usual routes for alternates instead.

An overturned truck at the I-12 and I-55 interchange near Hammond dumped up to 12 bales of hay, closing the roadway down in both eastbound lanes of I-12.

A significant clean-up effort was executed soon after, and the roadway was cleared for traffic.

Drivers are being asked to take Highway 22 and Highway 190 if possible.
